Acoustic Blues Weekend, The Artrix Arts Centre, Bromsgrove, Worcs., 2nd to 4th March

'Acoustic Blues Weekend' of workshops and performance from the 2nd to the 4th with John Miller, Sonny Black and Eddie Martin.
The programme will offer classes starting from Friday from 1pm to 5pm and an evening jam session from 8pm to midnight. On Saturday, classes will run from 10am to 5pm followed by a public concert at 8pm. On Sunday, classes will run from 10am to 4pm. The classes will cater for all levels and we recommend you bring along a portable recorder for future reference.
For the weekend, John Miller (from Seattle, Wash) will teach beginning to advanced country blues guitar chord progressions, demonstrate how to ‘learn by ear’ and to create your own country blues arrangements. Sonny Black will be teaching bottleneck slide guitar. He will have a close look at Open D tuning and explore the use of chords and slide techniques. Eddie Martin will conduct a harmonica masterclass for all levels. He will work through a course book and teach basic techniques (e.g. bendign and trill) to more advanced techniques (e.g. tongue block) using jams and set pieces.
